My DeTomaso is a 1978 Longchamp with the 4V 351 Cleveland engine. It was converted to GTS specs by the previous owner somewhere in the late 70th.

I bought it in 2021 and it turned out to be in an only average state. Various oil leaks: main seal and of course the trouble some Cam Gear steering rack used in the beginning of the production. To repair the main seal we took the engine out and at that moment we also replaced the main bearings and timing system. New bushings, new shockabsobers, new dynamo, new hi torque starter engine, new electronic distributer, repainted interior, all led lights now etc. And most important we changed the the troublesome Cam Gear hydrolic steering unit by an electric steering unit. This was quite a challenge because is has to be custom made. 

And not to forget: the Ford Granada headlights were a big mistake of DeTomaso, he must have been drunk or so. I converted it to double headlights, also custom made with the help of 3d printing.

Last winter, we took the complete interior out to repair some electric issues, all instruments now work as they should. At that occasion we also fitted some fine new carpet.

Various other parts were repaired or replaced, and I even 3d printed a new rear bumper!

But now the Longchamp is in a very good state, and very reliable!
